Dr. Frank LaBella PhD earned a B.A. and M.A. from Wesleyan University and a PhD from Emory University and has had a distinguished career as a professor at the University of Manitoba in the Department of Pharmacology with 219 scientific research papers, book chapters, and scientific reviews to his credit.

Although Dr. LaBella has received numerous scientific rewards, perhaps the most significant was when he was one of four Manitoba researchers selected to celebrate the centennial of the Faculty of Medicine as a means "To honour individuals who have made, through their genius, talent and energy, an outstanding contribution to health care". As noted by the Faculty of Medicine recognition, Dr. LaBella’s academic path has been focused on driving real world change.

Lisa LaBella MSc, PhD, CCFP, MD, is a physician in Winnipeg, working primarily in Family and Addiction Medicine. She holds Master's and Doctoral degrees from the University of Manitoba in the areas of Neurotransmitters involved at the brain level in pain control, and analysis of electrophysiological signalling in spinal cord reflex pathways, respectively.

Filipe Fernandes graduated from Red River College in 1987 with two diplomas, one in Electronics Engineering Technology and the other in Computer Engineering Technology. Over the years Mr. Fernandes has specialized in Electromagnetic Noise Management and the design of Low-Noise Systems, and with over 14 years of experience working in industry, he founded his own company in 2004: Tagus Consulting Ltd. Mr. Fernandes has been involved with innumerable challenging and cutting-edge projects, with a personal passion for a Microprocessor-Based System he developed for use during real-time Magnetic Resonance Imaging directly in the operating room. Mr. Fernandes is an active programmer, with VB6, C and LabVIEW being the primary languages he utilizes.
