A reason BCC exists is the problems science and technology-based firms experience accessing early-stage investment capital. We realize the significant difference between science and technology innovations vs. investable business opportunities. Our role is to put in the people and resources to help our clients become business opportunities. To do so often requires some investment support from BCC. We invest in two ways: · In-Kind ContributionsA market price to assemble the level of supports typically received through the BCC program would exceed the capacity of a start-up firm. BCC therefore subsidizes our client firms and charges only a portion of actual cost. · Debt and Equity Investment. BCC will also accept convertible debt notes as a means of payment. BCC’s fee structure is designed to produce a minimal impact on the cash position of our client companies.
